Its actually  kind of scary.  Back then I think I was a dork magnet, not a nerd magnet because nerds are afraid to approach women.   I did not know what to do because I wanted to be polite and not hurt thier feelings, but no way did I want to dance or even spend any time conversing with them.  What I thought I wanted back then was a handsome suave guy, confident and rich looking.   I sat back and waited to be discovered across the room by the man of my dreams.  Well Girls, that's just in the movies. What I found out after a long time going out with my girlfriends is that guys think differently than we do, we were looking for a nice guy to get to know.  They mostly are out there looking to score. I'm sure you can figure out what that means.  Now a days I think it may be different for senior dating and the 50+ singles.  Your not so much looking for thrills, as you want to meet someone nice that you can trust, for companionship with some love thrown in.  Its not easy.
     I did actually meet a computer nerd once back when computers were still new and he was nice.  He and his friend asked me and my friend if we would like to come over to there house and see some neat stuff about computers.  We did, but even though they were nice they were nerds and kinda weird and bottom line, they wanted to score.
